
Jimmie A. Parker, Sr. serves as the C.E.O. of “Dominion Global Music Group, Inc.” and Melodic Sound Studios.
Jimmie is the teacher, leader, and director of a dynamic music ministry. He discovered his gift at the age of four, and by ten was playing the organ and piano at his local church. Jimmie began training in classical piano and contrabass performance at the School of Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, Ohio. By age 15, he had played piano and contrabass in various productions such as “The Wiz”, “The Music Man”, “The King and I”, “Cats”, and many other productions culminating in more than 35 years of experience and expertise in the areas of production, composition, arranging, engineering electronics and musical performance at a high level.
Mr. Parker has held the position of National Music Coordinator of the Gospel Music Workshop of America’s Youth and Young Adult Department. He currently serves as principal keyboardist for the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra and student conductor of the Cleveland State University Symphony Orchestra and Cleveland State University Big Band. He has toured and played for various artists, such as Regina Bell, Charles Fold, Lashun Pace, Dorothy Norwood, Marvin Sapp, and Dottie Peoples, to name a few. He has also written and produced three Gospel albums: along with four successful Jazz albums: Mr. Parker has been a featured piano soloist with the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra and the Cleveland State University Symphony Orchestra playing his piano concerto opus.
Jimmie A. Parker Sr. is passionate about the creative arts and shares his passion with others through his renowned seminar master class "The Color of Music". This master class teaches musicians who serve and support choirs, dancers, ministers, artists, bands, and a host of other groups and organizations about the collaborative spirit needed to deliver an inspirational and harmonious musical product to the masses. The seminar exposes attendees to the principles of humility, collaboration, team building, accountability, purpose, and dedication as a means through which superior musical results can be achieved. Also through his Master Classes, attendees are taught basic principles of tonal theory, counterpoint, and other musical structures and forms. The importance of temperament, active listening, and service to others through your gifts are some of the tenets that are taught and espoused as part of the training modules within “The Color of Music” master class. This clinic has allowed Jimmie to travel the world sharing his musical talents and knowledge with those who work in the creative arts.
Jimmie A. Parker Sr. continues to inspire others. He is that unique talent who is driven to teach and encourage others, while maintaining a sincere desire to perfect his craft by challenging himself in new ways. He recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cleveland State University with a B.Mus in Music Composition. While preparing to pursue his Master’s in Music Composition, Jimmie’s life is a testament to his longstanding and sincere passion for creative arts. He eagerly awaits his next opportunity to collaborate with others who share his passion for music and drive for excellence.
